7 Inspirational Nuggets to Help You Win This Week – Tome 4

This week commit to your growth, your relationships, your mind, and your work. Here are my seven inspirational quotes to help you win this week.

Nugget 1

Nothing happens until you do the work.

Things move forward not by wishing but by doing. There is no substitute for the work. If you want the results, you must do the work. If you desire muscles, you must do the push-ups, sit-ups, and squats. If you aspire to build, you must put in the sweat equity. What outcome do you want? Work for it.

Nugget 2

Your relationships need the brightness of your presence to flourish.

Plants need sunlight to flourish. Without a fair dose, they can hardly survive. Your relationships are like plants; they need to be nurtured to flourish, and one of the ways to do that is by being present in the lives of your loved ones. Don’t let yourself get so busy that you don’t have time for your meaningful relationships.

Nugget 3

Ideas are powerful; they shape the world and rule it.

To a great extent, the world is a reflection of ideas and is governed by them. When you look around you, you see business ideas brought to fruition; you read ideas people imprinted in books; you’re moved by ideas projected on movie screens and sang in concert halls, etc. Ideas are powerful.

One idea can change your life. If you come across the right idea at the right time, it can completely alter the course of your life. Conversely, bad ideas can lead you downhill on the steep slope of self-destruction. Be mindful of the ideas you embrace and those you promote.

Nugget 4

Break your bad habits before they break you.

Your habits, good and bad, are leading you to a predetermined destination. Your bad habits are pushing in an undesired direction, and if you don’t deal with them, you’ll eventually fall into a ditch. In fact, with time, many bad habits—and you know which they are—have disastrous consequences: they lead to health issues; relational conflicts; regret because of missed opportunities; etc. You must endeavor to eliminate your bad habits before it’s too late.

Nugget 5

What you invest your time in tells the world your true values.

You want to know someone values; watch how they use their time. Ultimately, your most important values get the better part of your time. Your values are less about what you say they are than what your actions demonstrate they are. If you say that you value family, but you spend absolutely no time with your family, your true values are somewhere else (not in your family). Make sure you invest time in meaningful activities that align with your value.

Nugget 6

Challenges or commitment, who will win the fight?

When pursuing ambitious goals, don’t be surprised when challenges arise. They’re part of your journey. You don’t set your sail toward new worlds without having to face a few storms. But if you want it bad enough, you’ll press through until you reach your destination. Without stern resolve, they’re no great achievements. If your goal is important enough, you must make up your mind that you’ll overcome whatever comes your way. If your commitment is strong enough, no challenge is tough enough to stop you.

Nugget 7

Significant goals demand that you grow significantly.

The journey toward a great goal is as much (if not more) about who you become along the way than about reaching the goal itself. In fact, the journey toward an ambitious goal is a journey of growth. The person you are at the end of the journey is an improved version of the person you were when you launch on your journey. To make it to your destination, you had to grow. Growth isn’t always easy, but it’s necessary.
