7 Inspirational Nuggets to Help You Win This Week – Tome 6

This week, I encourage you to stay focused on your work and goals, tap into the well of your creativity, collaborate effectively with others, keep your heart pure no matter what, remain consistent in your work, use your words wisely, and make the most of every moment you’re blessed with.

Let’s make this week great! Here are my seven inspirational quotes to help you win this week.

Nugget 1

Stay focused until you reach the finish line.

It’s not over until you reach the finish line. Many races are lost in the last stretch of the race because racers lose their focus. Reaching a great goal demand that you remain focused on it until you achieve it. Distractions delay your progress. Moreover, if you let yourself get distracted, you may never reach your destination. Resist the urge to go chase “shinier” goals while your current goals are still not achieved. Focus on your work until you’re done.

Nugget 2

Don’t get stuck in imitation. Move to creation.

You have something unique to bring to the table. Your contribution to the world is unique. You do yourself and the world a great disservice when you stay stuck in imitation (i.e., plagiarizing other people’s work and styles). Imitation helps you learn the fundamentals. For instance, that’s how toddlers learn to talk. However, you can remain at that stage. You must develop your individuality and express your creativity. In everything you do, tap into your creative mind and inject something of you in your work.

Nugget 3

Great goals are achieved in teams.

You don’t have to travel the journey toward your goals alone. In fact, you’re not meant to travel alone; you’re meant to collaborate with others. Trying to make it alone extends your journey longer than it needs to be—plus, you expose yourself to unnecessary frustrations. If you aspire to achieve great goals, you need the strengths, skills, and abilities of others; great goals are achieved in teams.

Nugget 4

Let negative people think what they want to think. Keep your own heart pure.

You can’t control what other people think and say about you. However, you don’t have to let their opinion pollute your mind. Even with your best efforts, some people will continue to criticize you and cultivate negative thoughts and emotions toward you. People think what they want, and there’s not much you can do about that. That said, you can keep your own heart pure, and not let seeds of bitterness take root in your heart.

Nugget 5

A little bit every day can take you a long way.

Bite by bite, you eat that elephant. Step by step, you travel the distance. Brick by brick, you build the skyscraper. Line by line, you write the bestseller. Song by song, you produce the album. Pound by pound, you shed the weight. When you do a little bit each day, it accumulates. And before you know it, you travel a long way.

Nugget 6

Words can heal wounds.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue…” (Proverbs 18:21). With your words, you can do great damage, but you can also do a lot o good. Words are powerful. Your words can help heal the wounds of the people you come in touch with. Don’t underestimate the power of your words. Be intentional about sowing words of life in other people’s heart and mind.

Nugget 7

Today is a gift. Make the most of it.

Every morning you get to open your eyes and see the brightness of the day, it’s a great blessing. Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. If you received the gift of another “today,” you ought to cherish it. While you’re still breathing, maximize every moment. Live, love, and laugh. Contribute, connect, and care.
