7 Inspirational Nuggets to Help You Win This Week – Tome 7

This week, my inspirational nuggets aim to help you release your potential, get out of your own way, become mindful of what’s going on in your mind, understand the importance of being part of a community, let go of worry, use your words wisely, and keep moving forward.

As always, let’s make this week great!

Nugget 1

Here’s the best-kept secret to releasing your potential: Work!

You’re capable of achieving remarkable goals in your life; your potential is great. However, like a goldsmith working raw gold into pieces of jewelry, you must put in work to tap into your potential and do something meaningful with it. You can’t be lazy, thinking that your potential will come out on its own. To release your potential, you must embrace work.

Nugget 2

You are your biggest obstacle. And if you overcome that obstacle, you become unstoppable.

Many obstacles stand between you and your goals: lack of resources; lack of support; unforeseen events; lack of information; etc. However, by far, your biggest obstacle is yourself. You sabotage your own success in many ways. If you get out of your own way, you’ll achieve far more; you’ll stop letting your limiting beliefs paralyze you; you’ll avoid talking yourself out of great opportunities; you’ll embrace change instead of resisting it.

Nugget 3

The way you think affects the way you act, and the way you act defines the state of your life.

Your thoughts influence your life. To change your life, you must change your thoughts. That is to say that you must be mindful of what goes on in your mind. Don’t take what happens in your mind lightly; it impacts your life. Your thoughts control your actions, and your actions create your situation. Think right. Act right. Live right.

Nugget 4

We flourish most in the context of a community.

We’re made to cultivate relationships with one another and to evolve as part of a community. We’re not meant to operate in isolation. We need the company of others in your life. Don’t deceive yourself into thinking that you can make it alone; you can’t—and you won’t. You need others. You do yourself (and others) a great disservice when you exclude yourself from any community, thinking that you’re fine all by yourself. We’re stronger when we’re together.

Nugget 5

Worry doesn’t help you live longer, healthier, wealthier, or more fulfilled.

When you take a close look at why you worry, you realize that worry doesn’t bring you much. Worry gives you the illusion that it’s helping you, but it doesn’t. In fact, worry doesn’t contribute to improving your life in any way. It doesn’t extend your life. It doesn’t enhance your health. It doesn’t increase your wealth. It doesn’t bring you happiness and fulfillment. As hard as it may be, discipline your thought life to resist the human to worry.

Nugget 6

Your tongue can create mass destruction or bring a peaceful resolution.

Your tongue holds great power. With it, you can do great damage, or you can uplift many hearts. The right words spoken at the right time can defuse an explosive situation. They can build a bridge between two parties who were at odds. In times of conflict and disagreements, don’t let your tongue loose; keep it under control. Use your lips to build up, not put down; use it to edify, not vilify.

Nugget 7

Take a step forward, even if only a small step.

A small step forward is better than no step at all. Stagnation is the enemy. Don’t get stuck. And if you do get stuck, ask yourself: “What’s the next small step forward I can take?” When you find the answer to this question, take action. You may not always be able to progress as fast as you wish you would, but if you keep making small steps forward, you eventually reach your destination. One step at a time, that’s how you travel the journey.
