Disciplines You Must Develop to Achieve Remarkable Results – Part 2

Everybody has to produce their results using the same daily amount of time: 24 hours. The person who is rocking it and the person who is “wrecking” it, have this one thing in common: both have 24 hours per day to produce their results. No one gets more (or less).

The billionaire and the broke, the married and single, the young and the old—all work with the same 24 hours in a day. Why do these groups get different results? Part of it is the people use their time.

If you’re going to achieve remarkable results, you must develop the discipline of managing your time. Managing your time effectively is a must. What you do with your time determines your results. To improve your results, you must improve the use of your time. If your results aren’t what you want them to be, the way you manage your time is, most likely, responsible.

People who achieve remarkable results have learned to master their time. They know which activities should fill their schedules, and they remove all activities that don’t produce the results that they are after.

More specifically, they focus their efforts on high-value activities and tasks. They minimize the number of activities that don’t contribute to moving them forward toward their targets. They don’t allow themselves to be taken off course by the multiple distractions that assault them.

You can gain insight as to your time management skills by auditing your current schedule. Your schedule is telling you a story. If you take a moment to review your schedule for the past month, you’ll see why you’re getting your current results. And if you’re not satisfied with those results, you’ll need to make a change in how you use your time.

If you have little to no clue of where your time went in the past month, you may have lost the handle over your time. Monitor the way you use your time for the next week or two, and you should get a clear picture of your current time management skills.

Your time is precious. Treat it as such. Every moment you waste is gone forever. Maximize every moment and results will take care of themselves.

To achieve remarkable results, you must protect your time from distractions: you must make sure that you’re investing your time in most important activities.
