Evaluate Where You Are

Last week, the world lost one of our generation’s great personal development coaches and motivational speakers: Zig Ziglar. His unique style and inspirational teachings have impacted millions, me included.

Although he passed from this world, his legacy lives on and his voice continues to resonate in the hearts of many.

As this year comes to an end, and we’re getting ready to start a new year, it’s important that we take the time to evaluate where we are in life.  The video below, from Zig Ziglar, stresses this point.

Knowing where you are in life will help you plan for where you’re going. Of course, this presupposes that you know where you want to go. If you haven’t set goals for next year yet, I want to encourage you to take some time this week to write down a few things you want to achieve in the next year (for tips on goal-setting, click here).

If you’re like most people, this past year, you’ve experienced ups and downs, sunny days and rainy days, good times and challenging times. Although you can’t change what happened, you can use it to build a better future.

As you evaluate where you are, you may realized that you have a lot of “minuses” (i.e. areas of improvement). Don’t let this discourage you. Choose to make the required changes so that, one year from now, your results can be different.

In a nutshell, evaluate where you are and strategize for what’s ahead, and this next year will be phenomenal!
