How To Make This Year Exceptional – Part 2

Soon, in unison, we’ll begin the new year countdown and, with great excitement, we’ll wish each other, “Happy New Year!”

However, if you’re not careful, by the time you come down from the New Year frenzy, it’s February and you’re preparing for Valentine’s Day. That wouldn’t be an issue if only you had started working on your goals. But if you snooze, 10% of the year will vanish, and you have nothing to show for it.

By investing the time to prepare for the new year, you ensure you hit the ground running and, from day one, begin to maximize every day of the year.

Stay in 2017

As you’re saying your goodbyes to 2017, there may be some things in your life you need to say “bye, bye” to. Perhaps there are habits, mindsets, and activities you don’t want to carry in 2018.

For example, in 2017, you may have consumed more junk food than you wish you had, and you may want this habit to stay in 2017. If so, you must decide and commit to it.

Likewise, you may have spent a lot of time on trivial activities, which caused you to achieve far less than you could have. Perhaps you may want to cut some of these activities in 2018.

Also, in 2017, you may have invested too much energy in strife and anger, and you may wish to let go and enter 2018 free of negativity.

What should stay in 2017?

Add in 2018

On the flip side, there may have been things you need to add to your 2018 reality.

For example, perhaps you want to spend more time with your kids or go on more dates with your spouse. 2018 may be the year where you exercise more, read empowering books, go back to practicing your musical instrument, etc.

There are things you’ve been wanting to do for some time. 2018 may be the year you finally add some of them on your plate.

What activities must you add to your plate in 2018? Make sure you add those activities to your schedule.

As you prepare for 2018, see to it that your unproductive activities stay in 2017, and add a few more productive ones on your 2018 plate.
